This is very annoying as you often make a map spread over multiple sessions and you sometimes want to remove something you have built. There is a bug with the map editor where if you place a decent amount of items (can be all official Nadeo items!) you save and close the map, reopen the map, and remove almost any item/block, then most to all manually placed items get deleted from the map. Please let us know if this issue ever returns I will leave this thread open for now because we are unsure what has changed and to ensure this is permanently resolved for you. It is fantastic to hear that this seems to have resolved itself eFF_ecT.
Trackmania 2 stadium crashing fix windows#
Not sure if it is my windows environment to blame, but today everything works fine. I tried different things now, created the block again, also used the one I added above, none of them are causing any issues anymore. I tried reproducing it again today, I am not able to trigger a crash anymore.
This was quite handy as eventually I was able to track down the issue being the existence of this block or not. So the game cannot find it at the next startup, so it recreates the folder with empty subfolders. That I renamed my D:\Documents\Trackmania2020 folder to D:\Documents\_Trackmania2020 With "I am able to fix it for myself by renaming my trackmania 2020 folders, it might be caused by one of the items." I meant. We also cannot open the block file attached, was this block of the same variant as the ones you've been able to reproduce the crashing issue with? You noted changing folder names helped, may I know what some of those names were before and after? Thank you for updating your post with your findings, there's some things I'd like some more details on to consult the team. Thanks for reporting this to us and sorry to hear you're having issues. And also the shadow calculation does not want to always work, not related to the crash though! Hey there! So in the end 2 bugs, this block I attached is something wrong with. And also the shadow calculation does not want to always work, not related to the crash though!Īfter removing the corrupt block, I am able to reopen the map I thought was corrupted. If you then open the map editor, game keeps crashing unless you delete the block file manually.Īfter removing the corrupt block, I am able to reopen the map I thought was corrupted. I found a way to reproduce this crash, when making a custom block of the grass hill straight (the one from the url) and making a mesh for every variant, just click + for each variant, opens the mesh modeler, close it, and save the block. When I have this particular block in my Blocks folder, the game crashes, otherwise not. I think the crashes are caused by a second bug. I am able to fix it for myself by renaming my trackmania 2020 folders, it might be caused by one of the items. Other tools like mediatracker still seem to work. Trying to use the simple editor (controller version) also crashes the game. Luckly it was only a test map, so I did lose anything valuable.Īfter this happened, I am not able to open ANY map, including trying to create a new map in the map editor.Įven when I delete the map, clear cache, disable openplanet, nothing helps, the map editor still causes a crash to desktop when I try to open it. When restarting the game, the game still crashes, even after I cleared my cache folder (in C:\ProgramData\TrackMania\Cache) Shadow computation disabled (mapping (BlockId doublons ?))Īfterwards, I was not smart to save the map, because when I tried to close the map and reopen it again, the game takes a while to load the map and then crashes (CTD).
Deleting my ManiaPlanet folder in C:\Documents.
